Dear Earthlings, I hope you are already recycling. We are amazed how many humans think this planet is a garbage can. We see trash everywhere. If you are not recycling, we are here to teach you.
Recycling is not rocket science. You have to be able to get your lazy Earthling body up out of your bean bag chair and dispose or recycle the products accordingly.
Why Recycle? My stars, Earthling! If you have not figured out why you should recycle, please allow me to do it once and for all.
1. To Help Out. If you take the time to sort your stuff for recycling in the first place, it's more likely to be recycled. The good news is that you do not need a degree from Oxford to be able to recycle.
2. Less Landfill. 75% of Americans' trash can be recycled. However only 25% is recycled. This is completely illogical to us, humans. We do not understand why some DIDIOT humans do not recycle. We recommend for humans that are "overweight" to take up recycling as an exercise. Here's another recycling tip: Next time you are trying to meet a potential date, just tell them the following " I recycle for exercise. Would you like to join me?" Nine times out of 10, you will get the date. In fact, we are so sure of this line that you no longer need to watch Mystery on The Pickup Artist.
3. Save energy. Recycling one aluminum can takes 96% less energy than making a new on. Besides, you can collect cans and sell them at a profit. Earthling, you could start aluminum can collecting parties in your neighborhood. This might be a great way for you to meet friends or someone you can marry later.
4. Cleaner Water. The average landfill liner is only 10th of an inch thick. Toxins leak through and contaminate the groundwater below, often seeping into our drinking water.
1. Visit Earth911.org to find out where to recycle anything on planet Earth
2. You do not need to remove label from your cans and bottles. But do remove plastic lids.
3. You do not need to wash your recyclables, but do not leave excess food. Save water - a quick rinse will do.
Objects You Can Recycle:
1. Glass. Unbroken bottles are easier for workers to sort.
2. Metal. Cans, tins and aluminum foil.
3. Paper. Newspapers, magazines, computer printouts, boxes, envelopes.
4. Plastic #1-#2. Plastic soda bottles, detergent bottles, milk jugs, food containers are recyclable in most places.
5. Plastics #3-#7. This includes Styrofoam, shrink wrap, padded
envelopes, trash liners, and pipes. Check with your local facilities.
6. Plastic shopping bags. Reuse them first. Ideas include trashcan
liners, cat litter disposal, packing material. Many supermarkets have
recycling bins inside. Best to avoid using them by carrying
your own
reusable ZorkPlanet shopping bag.
Remember to check with your recycling center in order to get their specific rules. If your city is not recycling, find out how to get them to start!
